About 90% of Americans want some kind of gun safety control. But, we still are stifled and getting nowhere in Congress. Our children are still targeted on the streets and killed in the classrooms. What kind of a democracy allows this to happen; over, and over, and over again? Will the NRA be allowed to hold us all as hostages for another 50 years?
Until 1977, the American Rifle Association, NRA, was mainly a club for sportsmen and hunters. As the Vietnam war ended, the weapons manufacturers were desperate find new markets for their guns and assault rifles. Thus they joined forces with the NRA to become a powerful political lobby to promote gun sales and profits. For the first time the NRA became strong and wealthy with virtual control over Congress and against any laws to limit firearms. Politicians who fought the NRA were soon booted out of office. The NRA is now rich and powerful and need to be rolled back to their former positions supporting sportsmen. … Here is one way to do that.
Make this 2016 Presidential election campaign about one main issue; … Gun Safety is the issue. … Start this process now during the Primaries. The plan is to vote against any candidate who supports the NRA and stands against gun control. A large vote for gun controls is all that is needed. But, that will require a concerted effort resembling a tsunami to achieve success. Can America do that? … Let us stand strong before things get even worse.
The State of California currently has laws addressing the sales of all firearms, an assault weapons ban, and a ban on making and selling magazines that hold more than ten rounds. A host of stiffer safety controls are now under debate in this State and in others. State controls are a positive step forward, but only stiff Federal laws will be effective in preventing guns and bullets to proliferate in our neighborhoods.
Australia did it in 1996! … They passed gun safety laws.
That leaves America to be the only advanced country without reasonable gun safety controls. Just think about it. We still permit the owning of Military Assault Rifles and rapid loading magazines which were designed to kill people on the battle field. These are weapons of awesome terror. These weapons are utterly unacceptable to be in our homes and must be stopped ASAP.
AMERICA NEEDS A BETTER CONGRESS
Our Congress is radical conservative due to a low voter turnout in the mid-term elections.
Young lives can be saved.
Innocent lives can be saved.
It is up to us.
VOTE AGAINST NRA SUPPORTERS.
VOTE FOR POLITICIANS WHO WANT GUN SAFETY.
SEND A STRONG MESSAGE TO CONGRESS!
