A Wealth Tax can provide enough funds to educate all America’s children to become the best in the world. Each new generation of High School graduates will become more responsible and mature adults. They will be skilled communicators of highest integrity and character, able and willing to work together in solving all our social and security challenges. Our world will thus be transformed beyond our wildest dreams. African American families will be the major beneficiaries. Former American slaves will be honored for this great leap forward by their past sacrifices and sufferings. The subject of Reparations will thus be satisfied, and the American Dream will advance.
America is only as great as its people, and our people are far from achieving their full potential. Here are three interconnected program policies that will move America forward for the benefit of our nation and of all our citizens, not just the privileged few. Congress needs to take action here.
First, and most important, is to properly fund our early education for every child, with emphasis on schools in our poorest districts, nationwide. Teachers in our poorest schools must be paid top salaries to attract the most qualified teachers of the land. Respect and prestige for teaches must be elevated to the highest levels. Costs should be no obstacle for this rich country. Calculate the dollars required each year, and get the money for them, period. Our potential rewards are enormous as we finally achieve the dreams of our founding fathers. We must value our children because they are our future.
The primary objective is to teach communication skills that are “constructive” rather than “destructive” as currently prevalent. In time, our new generations of mature adults will communicate with respect and compassion and empathy. Some will even learn how to love the other person, regardless of their cultural differences. Mature dialog will solve all problems, past and future, in contrast to the use of power and violence.
Second, we fund much of this program by special taxes paid by our super-rich citizens; Their lives will not be affected in the least. This will tend to restore a much-needed balance of distributed wealth, and bring a healthy prosperity to all. Many of these wealthy citizens will gladly contribute to a sound education plan that can solve so many of our nation’s problems.
This redistribution of wealth is long overdue, and what better way to do it than to support stronger and better educated citizens. All patriots should see the value of this program.
Third, we help to diminish our serious racial problem by giving credit in an unusual manner. The early education funds will be in lieu of “Reparations” from past enslavement of our negro citizens. They will get full credit for funding this important program that can “lift all boats”. This new kind of early education will focus on developing social skills and communication skills, along with the 3-R’s and the arts. Our children will thus become educated for the purpose of becoming mature and compassionate adults, those who truly care for the other with respect and empathy. Indeed, what can be of more value in America. Our African Americans will gain the most, but all Americans will benefit.
This way of using reparations avoids the basic problem of equitable distribution. When America finally awakens later in this century, it is hoped that the evils of racism will be in the past. We will have entered a New Age of equality for all. The American culture can thus move gradually from one of Materialism to one of Human Values.
